About Us

Meet the Team

All our doctors are specialist General Practitioners who have completed or are training towards a fellowship through the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. Our core team of doctors live in the area and all spend time in the great outdoors pursuing various sports and activities.

Dr Skye Hueneke

Skye was born in South Australia and has lived, surfed and worked as a GP on the Surf Coast for more than a decade.

Dr Deborah Heng

Deb's parents live in South Australia and she also grew up there. Lucky for us she's not planning on going back any time soon.

Dr Stuart Jones

Originally from Canada, Stuart studied medicine and trained as a junior doctor in South Australia.

Dr Lucy Dobson

Lucy hails from Shepparton. After finishing med school she took a celebratory road trip that ended up in Adelaide.

Dr David Corbet

Growing up in Ballarat, David has visited SA a few times - he once played a gig at The Grovsner Hotel in Adelaide.

Amanda Goulding

GP Registrar

Originally from Canada, Amanda once told Flinders Ranges, South Australia was a 2-hour drive north of Adelaide, 5 hours of driving later she arrived...

Sam Virgona

Samantha Virgona

Practice Manager

Sam has joined Anglesea Medical as of November 2019 - we are yet to find out her connection to South Australia. But we will!

Sally Locke

RN and Nurse immuniser

Sally once walked from Torquay to South Australia... potentially. And we're certain it would have been along the beach, which is where you'll find her most mornings.

Yvette O'Kane

Yvette lived in Horsham for a long time, which is a perfect stop over on the drive to South Australia.

RN Amy McElgunn

Amy McElgunn

RN and Nurse Immuniser

We welcome Amy to our clinic, she pretty much grew up in South Australia... a stones throw we hear.

Jen Pic

Jen O'Connell

RN and Nurse Immuniser

Jen was born about as far away from South Australia as you can get.  You might notice it in her accent.

Caroline Woodhams

Caroline Woodhams

Caroline tells us she has visited South Australia just once. We have absolutely no reason to doubt the veracity of this claim.

Greta Morton

Greta once broke down in a small town in the north of South Australia, and spent 8 hours on a bus to Adelaide.

Debbie Myers

Deb used to fly to Adelaide regularly in her job as a flight attendant with Ansett.

But wait there's more...

Time for change

Due to a number of changes taking place, and identifying differences between Surfcoast Medical Torquay and Anglesea clinics, there was an agreed mutual split in 2019. This led to the forming of the new business entity of Anglesea Medical owned and operated by Dr Skye Hueneke, Dr David Corbet and Dr Stuart Jones.

We continue to provide the same high quality health care services from within the Barwon Health Community Health Centre and have a close working relationship with the Allied Health clinicians who work at the same location. Anglesea Medical is a private mixed-billing general practice and functions as an independent business - we are not a subsidary of Barwon Health.

Our Approach

Commitment to learning

Anglesea Medical is a fully accredited General Practice and works with Deakin University to provide placements for medical and nursing students. Through the regional training provider MCCC, we provide training to GP Registrars from time to time. We also particpate in the John Flynn Placement Program that provides medical students experience in working in a rural location.

Providing comprehensive General Practice services to Anglesea and the Surf Coast
